I have just received two letters from "Domain Registry of America" warning
me that the domain names of my two websites were due to expire and I needed
to send them $A48.00 immediately to renew them for one year and $A161.00 for
five years.
I contacted my hosting service www.ozehosts.com who are brilliant at
responding quickly and they confirmed that this is a scam and I should NOT
send any money to this crew and that I should alert my colleagues. They are
going to take the matter up with the authorities as soon as I post them what
I received.
Given that this email can reach about 25 000 of you all around the world in
a few seconds, I figure that might be a serious amount of $$$ that these
thieves will not get.
