Target: patron id's for K-2

Greetings!  We're looking for ideas about objects that we can attach our
student's patron barcodes to.  We don't like using little plastic id
cards--our kids would lose them easily!  Currently we're using lollipops
made out of laminated cardstock and Popsicle sticks but we don't want to
use them next year. They were too time-consuming to make and they
haven't lasted well.  We need an object that can double as a hallpass to
the media center, so it needs to be large enough to be seen in a child's
hand...We looked at maybe using the paddles from paddleball games from
Oriental Trading company, but that gets expensive fast.  Someone
suggested colorful rulers...Any other ideas out there?  We'd greatly
appreciate hearing them! Thanks!  (Our older kids have their barcodes in
a three-ring binder at the check-out counter.)
