Dear Tami
I am not promoting the lifestyle. It is what it is. I am just being
realistic that it is a choice for some, that some schools will have students
where there is what they see at home and we need to acknowledge that. Don't
promote being in prison either, or living in a violence-ridden household but
with the trend towards bibliotherapy I am sure that someone somewhere will
want a title to address the issue, or at least start discussions.

Also some picture books are designed for older students - this may well be
one of them. If it were in my library I would probably have a Senior
Fiction sticker on it so it can only go home with a Yr 5/6 student.

Shonda, thank you for such a well-considered and well-written response, as
always.
Barbara
