To continue the discussion, I wish to respectfully add my own comments. Hurrah for Julie for a beautifully written message. I would further like to add that no one promotes homosexuality, it is not a choice. I could add here that I abhor the term "lifestyle" as it appears to support the fallacy of choice. Many of my gay friends have struggled with hatred and discrimination, none of them chose their orientation; there is medicalresearch that indicates homosexuality is determined in the womb! We have a Gay Straight Alliance at our school. The stories from those students are heart breaking, acts of hatred and bigotry against them, even as young as elementary school years. In providing students with information that teaches respect for all persons and shows a variety of people living their lives in all the different ways it can be lived, we are preparing them to live a life of tolerance and promoting understanding--isn't that what this world needs? Let peace begin with us. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
