A couple of years ago I visited a brand new K-5 building in anticipation of a library renovation in our school. The room was rectangular in shape and along one long wall had floor to ceiling glass panels, no window treatments. Initially I thought, what a gorgeous view to the attached enclosed courtyard. Then I spent a couple of hours in the room. My opinion totally changed. During storytime the kids had to change the angle of their seats due to the glare and several tables were not usable due to the intense glare. In my opinion this library probably already has issues with the carpet fading even though they've only been open 2 years. I doubt that a small overhang will serve the purpose it is intended for. When we did our renovation, we removed ancient vertical blinds and had darkening film applied to the windows. This didn't really impact on our ability to see outside, but it did help tremendously with the sun going where we didn't want it to be. Perhaps this is a solution that you could explore for your situation. Good luck during this exciting time ! Diane --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo!
