I am SO sold on Gale databases. We have the following (some even from the
list that is offered for trial):
Literature Resource Center (most heavily used)
Discovering Collection
Informe
Kids Edition
Kids Infobits
Junior Edition
Student Edition
General Reference Center GOLD
Expanded Academic ASAP (love this one..had it at the university level)
Junior Reference Collection
Professional Collection (a life-saver many times)
Student Resource Center Health Module (nurse and science teacher love this
one)
InfoTrac Newspapers
Scribner's Writer Series
Twaynes Author Series
Opposing Viewpoints (have a trial now...love it...will be subscribing!)
Student Resource Center
What do I Read Next? (kids and parents love this one!)
If you have a chance to try these out, please do (no, I don't work for
Gale...but they seem to have been a part of my life for a LONG time now! I
feel like they're a necessity!) I'm absolutely excited about what they
offer in both print and online! Thank goodness they've helped Texas with
all of our database accessibility needs this year. The digital divide has
slowed tremendously within our schools because of their efforts to help us
afford these types of online resources for our students' research needs!
I haven't tried all of the ones listed below, so I'm looking forward to
seeing more of their products during National Library Week!
So, I agree...if you have a chance to run a trial, see which ones fit your
curriculum! You'll love them too!
