Thanks to everyone who responded:

I use Power Point on a Mac iBook at present but have also used mPower. I hook
the computer directly into the cctv output to the school. You may need an adapter
depending on your computer outputs. You can set both programs to play on a
continuous loop.

At my Jr.High School in Austin Texas, we display announcements all day using an
AverKey, Computer and our school network system. Set your PowerPoint to continuous
replay and it will repeat all day. It is easy to update and you can add any
graphics you want.

I use a couple Macintosh G3s with A/V buses and the Apple Presentation system to
hook into the TV system. Some of our other schools use a newer system with PCs and
the Apple package can be used for that also--you just need a conversion cable for
the bus output.

I have a computer hooked up to my ITV system. I have used digital pictures
downloaded from my camera imported into a power point . Do you have an ITV system?

I have a computer hooked up to an Aver Key
Scan Converter which I purchased for about $100. The scan converter connects
to our closed circuit system. I do not know about Carousel, except that I
do fine without it. Our yearbook students created the Power Point presentations
and I start them on continuous loop each morning. The scan converter
allows whatever is on the computer screen to be shown on the TV. It's
 that easy.

We don't have one at our school, but our IRC
(Instructional Resource Center) for the county has a flat screen plasma TV with
a power point presentation running from a computer.
