I call it the "online catalog" but to the 3rd and 4th graders, when we are doing lessons about the catalog, I always mention that it can be called an "OPAC" and let them know what the acronym stands for. This also lets them know that they are the public who have the access to the catalog. I like to give them "grown-up" words, and they seem – mostly – to appreciate it, too. (By the time they leave our school, I also expect them to put things in alphabetical order and say so, not "A-B-C order.") Nancy Torok James J.
