TARGET: Specs for DVD/VCR Player or DVD player

I am about to buy the first DVD player for our school and would
appreciate any advice on what to purchase.  The archives didn't
address features to look for.  In your opinion, what brands of
DVD/VCR or DVD players are the best and what should I look for in
terms of features?  Thanks for your help.
