I have a colleague looking for the book/movie title to the following
information. This is on a test for her and the handout says to utilize
staff resources and you are definitely mine.

"Lily is a forty-six year old married woman and the mother of three
children. She has two sons, ages 23 and 21, and an 18 year old daughter.
Lily's three children are all by her first husband who she divorced three
years ago. Lily's first husband was the owner of a gas station, but always
saw himself as a fisherman. He operated a lobster boat out of his New
England harbor town. Lily's two sons were close, but quite different. Adam
the older boy, entered the Marine Corps immediately after high school while
his brother Ben is in college, studying to be a teacher and coach. Their
sister, Cindy, was sent away to an exclusive boarding school shortly after
her mother's re-marriage. Although Cindy balked at her mother's insistence
that she leave her school and hometwon, Lily pointed out "thanks to your
stepfather's generosity and financial means, you have opportunities that I
never had as a girl. You'll be able to travel in circles with educated,
refined people, not like thos 'dirt under their fingernails'types like your
father." Cindy eventually dropped out of the boarding school, and has been
in and out of treatment facilities where she has been diagnosed with
depresssion and chemical dependency.
Lily's first farriage, and resultant family, had always been fraught
with turmoil Lily would frequently remark, "I made the terrible mistake of
marrying beneath me." Lily was always regarded as one of the most beautiful
women in their town, and she clearly invested a great amount of time in
cultivating that asset. Her style of dress could be best described as
expensive, but also flashy. Critics often accused Lily as attmpting to
appear much younger than her years. She often referred to Cindy as "my
little sister. We share clothes all the time." She typically answers her
critics with the withering observation that "they're just jealous."
Lily's strong personality has alienated other women to the same degree
that her looks always attracted men. Despite this fact, Lily often referred
to femal acquaintances as "dear friends" and always attributed her lack of
social status to her blue-collar first husband. One of Lily's few
acknowledged regrets was her decicion of having her make-up permanently
tattooed on her face. She once confided that "of course I looked wonderful
at first, but styles change, and I'm locked into the same look now. But it
is a classic look, I must say."
Lily admits to enjoying "an occasional glass of wine or two" but denies
that she has a problem with alcohol. She wistfully recalls "I remember how
romantic it was to st on my current husban's yacht, sipping a fine
Beaujolais. Sadly, the fulfillment of a flirtation is far less satisfying
than its anticipation."
Lily has been mandated into conseling by her husband becauseof an
unsuccessful suicide attempt. Her superficial cuts to her wrists were more
frightening than life threatening, but her husband lamented, "my god, Lily,
this is embarrassing. Get you head together." Lily dismissed the attempt,
reporting, "it was a foolish thing to do, of course, but some of us feel
more deeply than others."

My colleague needs to diagnosis and create a treatment plan, but would
really like to know the title to this book/movie. She says that Lily may
not be the main character in the book/movie.

Any ideas????
