TECH: WinXP user accounst and AV updates

Our student account on Win XP is part of the "User" group.  XP will not
allow the account to update Command Antivirus definitions.  This means I
would need to log on to all of the computers on a daily basis to update
definitions.  What can I do a) to the program so that all users can
update the definitions, or b) to the user accounts so that they can
update definitions but not change other settings?
