HIT: ELEM, needs vs wants

My 6 year old son loves Dr. Laura Schlesinger's book, But I Waaaant It!

Max goes to the toy store and pitches a fit for a large number of
stuffed animals.  For some unknown reason, his mother succumbs to his
fit and buys them all (but that's another issue).  He gets home with
them and finds that they do not make him happy and he does not need all
of them, just his old friend Mr. Cat.  The story ends with Max happily
giving the extra toys to children at a shelter.

Books that we used for this unit:  The Ragcoat,  Don't Need Friends, I
Need a Lunch Box
