Youth Services Program
SAVE THE DATE!
Youth Librarianship=85Bringing the Pieces Together
Friday, April 1- Saturday, April 2, 2005 =20
 =20
Join your colleagues for the 30th Annual NYLA Youth Services Section =
Spring Conference
at the Historic Sagamore Resort and Spa, located at Bolton Landing on Lake =
George.

Puzzles...you can put them together, take them apart, interlock, =
disentangle, investigate, decode, figure, fold, and solve them. The =
interlocking programs and services at libraries contribute to the overall =
picture of library service. How well can YOU fit the pieces together? Join =
your colleagues for an exciting conference and discover why Youth =
Librarians are the most important piece of the library puzzle!

Three good reasons why you won't want to miss this conference!

1. Great speakers like Michael Sullivan and Todd Strasser. Michael =
Sullivan is the author of Connecting Boys to Libraries. Are boys missing a =
piece at your library? He will describe techniques to reverse this process =
in his keynote address. Todd Strasser, "who really has his finger on the =
way kids think," (NY Times), will be the luncheon speaker. His books =
include such titles as Give a Boy a Gun and Help! I'm Trapped.=20

2. New at this conference=85Author Breakfast=85Saturday, April 2nd. The =
speaker for the Author Breakfast is Jennifer Donnelly, author of A =
Northern Light, a Michael L. Printz Award Honor book for 2004.=20

3. Location, location, location. The conference is being held at the =
Sagamore Resort and Spa. Situated in the unspoiled Adirondack Mountains, =
The Sagamore features the Historic Hotel, with its elegant d*cor, and The =
Lodges, decorated in a relaxed Adirondack style. The Sagamore is a =
year-round resort and sports paradise. Travel to Albany via train or plane =
will be coordinated with transportation to the conference site for =
pre-registered attendees and special room rates at this luxury resort will =
be in effect throughout the weekend.=20

NYLA/YSS members will receive a registration brochure in the mail. Not a =
member, join today! For additional conference information contact Kathie =
LaBombard, Conference Chair by telephone: (518) 563-5190 or by email: =
