6th grade read aloud needed

Dear LM_netters,

Last week, our school experienced a terrible tragedy.  A 6th grade boy
was in an accident involving a barge sinking on Lake Okoboji.  He is
missing and presumed drowned.  We have had divers and sonar equipment
from all over the entire U.S. here searching for his body. =20

The 6th grade teachers approached me today about finding a book to read
aloud to their classes in this time of tragedy.  They would like an up
lifting, humorous story.  This book would replace the book they read,
which is Hatchet.  This book is not appropriate at this time.
