Experiments with Simple Machines by Salvatore Tocci

I bought a nice set from Power Kids Press, (or was it Marshall Cavendish)?
We have the same rep for both companies and I am at home so I can't check.
The set includes a book on each type of simple machine, about 3rd grade
level.

We like _How do you lift a lion?_ by Robert Wells, and the Looking At
Simple Machines series by Helen Frost (Capstone Press) _What are
pulleys?_, _What are inclined planes?_ etc.

Here are two series that I have at my library that my third graders use:

Simple Devices (series) by Patricia Armentrout Rourke Press
Simple Machines(series) Rigby Education

Two possible series: the first is very simple, the second is more
> detailed. Don't know if they are in print.
>
> Early Reader Science series (includes the titles Wheels and Axels,
> Inclined Planes, Pulleys, Levers) by Michael Dahl, Bridgestone Books,
> an imprint of Capstone.c. 1996
>
> Simple Machines series (titles include Wheels and Cranks,Ramps and
> Wedges, Pulleys and Gears, Springs, Screws, Levers) by David Glover,
> Rigby Interactive Library, an imprint of Rigby Education c. 1997
