Two things that we do at our school during American Ed. week are:
1)We host a public library card sign-up with our local library. It shows
support for the community and helps maintain a healthy relationship with the
the public library.
2) We display student art work in the library. Parents that wouldn't
normally stop in the library during parent conferences will stop in the
library to see student art work.
Although it's probably too late for this year, I've known some librarians
who hold their annual book fair during American Ed. Week so that parents can
buy books along with students.
