[LM_NET] HIT: MID: Read aloud - Fr. & Indian War

Thanks to all who replied with suggestions for a 5th grade read aloud to
introduce a unit on the French & Indian Wars. The teacher was looking for a
picture book.  I think this one might work:

Picture book:
Struggle for a Continent: The French and Indian Wars, 1689-1763
by Betsy and Giulio Maestro, c2000.

Struggle for a Continent tells the riveting story of the French and Indian
Wars seventy-four years of fighting that determined the destiny of the
future United States.

Two novels were suggested:
Calico Captive - Elizabeth George Speare
The Winter People - Joseph Bruchac
