Hi. A friend is working on her doctorate at Florida State, and specializes in the librarian image found in popular media. She's put together a list of movies with librarians she has screened, with short notes on each. She's interested in (among other things) why librarians are chosen as the profession of characters. Also if librarians in the media help or hinder access to knowledge. You can see the first draft of her webpage at: www.movie-librarians.com She read two papers at popular culture conferences, one about Desk Set and the other about The Mummy. Right now she's writing about The Name of the Rose. Input appreciated. Please respond directly to her (link also at the end of the introduction) [Antoinette] movielibrarians@earthlink.net Thanks, Melanie Aultman, Library Specialist Waldo Library, Waldo, FL melaniehaha@yahoo.com --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
