Hello, We (two librarians new to school-librarianship) are preparing to move our collection (approximately 6,000 books) to a beautiful, brand new library addition on the other end, but same floor, of the building. Our move is targeted to begin in early December in order to be completed (we hope) by the beginning of January. In order to do that, we will need to begin the move while school is in session and during the students' exam week. We are likely to have student and parent volunteers available to help us as well. Does anyone out there have any advice, tips, horror stories, etc. on the best way to move a library collection while school is in session?
