[LM_NET] Need book title

Just so my coworkers will think I am a miracle worker (heh heh...you are
my secret weapon!), can you help me identify a book title:

The book way published at least 50 years ago, about a man marooned among a
village of Eskimos.  The women of the village take care of him while he
recovers from injuries.  As he lives in the village, their ways begin to
change.  Some of the villagers are upset by this, so they kill him.  End
of story.

Also, can anyone help with finding a copy of this mystery book?
