You can get the video & the others, and other invaluable information (there are teachers' and parents' guides to the film as well) at http://www.ldonline.org (go to "LD store") Susan Jones Academic Development Specialist Academic Development Center Parkland College Champaign, IL 61821 sujones@parkland.edu Webmastress, http://www.resourceroom.net >>> Dennis Hollingsead <hollings@ANDREWS.EDU> 11/09/04 08:58AM >>> An absolutely MUST-SEE video is entitled "How Difficult Can This Be? - F.A.T. City" from PBS on-line video store at www.ShopPBS.org This is available in DVD or VHS. Viewing this video WILL change your general education teachers FOREVER!!!! My wife is a special education professor at a university here in Michigan. She has used it here for over 2 years and before that in Minnesota State University for 5 years. Presenter is Richard Lavoie. The promotional annotation reads as follows: This important program looks at the world through the eyes of children with learning disabilities by taking you to a unique workshop attended by parents, educators, psychologists and social workers. There they join in a series of classroom activities which, cause frustration, anxiety and tension -- emotions all too familiar to the student with a learning disability. "Must" viewing for parents and teachers. This is the best Special Education video I have ever seen! BTW, Richard Lavoie also has several other videos through PBS Video which are almost as good! -- Dennis Hollingsead Administrative Assistant to VP for Academic Administration Andrews University Berrien Springs, MI 49104 269-471-3404 Graduate Student Minnesota State University, Mankato hollings@andrews.edu "Data is not inherently good or bad, but accurate data that drives decisions quickly is good".
