And I fondly remember this student. She bravely faced the fact that she
had to find a book, she also bravely faced the fact that she would have
to search for it on OPAC. Once she found the book she wanted on OPAC,
she even bravely pressed print. She picked up the citation she just
printed and said - "Look Mrs. Henry. I pressed print and this is all
that came out. Where is the rest of the book?" But - perhaps I should
just see her as a visionary. That day might be coming very soon. And we
think our printing costs are high now!!

Helping a group of 10th graders with research, hand a book to
student who "can't find ANYTHING in the library on my topic!"
'Here look at this, all the answers you need are in this chapter.'
"You mean I gotta read it?"
'Well, yes. It is a book and you are doing research.'
"Well, that's not gonna help me at all. I need to go find another book
that I don't have to read."
Sigh.
