Dear folks - We are exploring alternative titles to what is currently taught in our 11th grade Brit Lit courses - especially for the "general level" student. We currently teach, among other things - Beowulf, Canterbury Tales, a Shakespeare play, 1984, Brave New World, Animal Farm, Wuthering Heights, Christmas Carol, Walkabout, Alice in Wonderland - a teacher has expressed interest in "Curious Incident of the dog in the nighttime" - What titles would you folks advise - I purchased a copy of Sue Townsend's *Ten tiny fingers, nine tiny toes" - I thought it might be a suitable substitution for Brave New World, but the teacher objected to the reference to sexual organs. Any and all help would be appreciated - especially whats 'hot' in Great Britain - Regards Julie **************************************************************************** ******* A mind that is stretched around a new idea never returns to its original dimension." - Oliver Wendell Holmes **************************************************************************** ******** Julie Hulten, Library Media Specialist Mark T.
