Good morning, We have a new pre-k program in our school. The teacher brings back what I feel is large number of damaged books. Our early childhood program - same age group but lower ability children- very rarely, if ever, has damaged materials. The pre-k teacher feels that this is just going to happen with this age group. She told me they are young and they are going to tear things up. I was furious and unfortunately our principal doesn't see the problem with books continually being damaged. She actually said, "you know how to repair them, right?" Sorry about the vent. I am hoping that someone out there can help point me in the right direction. I was thinking about trying to get some board books or sturdy early readers. Does anyone have a suggestion where I can find these. I normally use Titlewave and have found board books. Are there books between the sturdiness of board books and regular books? I have very little experience in the age range and would really appreciate the help. Thank you, Salli Salli Pritts District Librarian Bement CUSD#5 Bement, IL 61813 hambrechts@bement.k12.il.us -------------------------------------------------------------------- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
