Dear All
I have to echo Shonda sentiments and tell you that, as a member of several
t/l lists around the world, that these sorts of perception problems/ lack of
understanding/ continually having to fight for what we know is the best for
the kids are global issues, especially in countries where universal
education is taken for granted.
So, no matter what, you are not alone, and it is our unique expertise with
ICT that gives us the strength to support each other.
Personally, I think that a lot of the problem is that we are so far ahead of
those we are supposed to answer to, our contribution will never be
understood because by the time they reach where we are now, we will have
moved on beyond them again. What they take for granted now, we were
initiating ten years ago. We break down the bricks in the wall of change to
see the possibilities beyond and then have to drag everyone else through the
hole that we make. By the time Tail End Charlie is through the hole, we are
well on our way through the next barricade.
Hang in there - and good luck to all of you facing these situations (and
that includes me!)
