Leah, The book Information Power is the best resource to use for ALA's library standards. However, if you're in a time crunch, ALA's website provides a good overview from several of the chapters: http://www.ala.org/ala/aasl/aaslproftools/informationpower/informationpower.htm. Further down on the page it also gives some of AASL resource guides and the Standards & Guidelines link gives some specific state standards for school libraries. I hope this link goes through... I am having trouble locating such a document. I called the ALA and was referred to their web site. I searched the web site and have found references to standards but no listing of standards. I also found a different phone number to call at ALA but they did not know how to help me. Any suggestions? Does a list of ALA standards exist? This is very frustrating. Thank you, in advance, for all your help.
