At yesterday's end-of-course meeting for the SUNY Plattsburgh library research methods faculty (lots of eats and whines and laughter), the Edward R. Tufte _The Cognitive Style of PowerPoint_ book was highly recommended. This semester, we introduced teaching Microsoft Office technology within the information literacy curriculum and had "interesting" results. One person made his whole class buy this book and discuss it. I promptly signed out the library copy on my way out of the library, but will pay the $7 for it, I know. To look at it go to: <http://www.edwardtufte.com/tufte/> and click on "Powerpoint essay" in the top menu. The "centerfold" is a PPT done by Peter Norvig that is on his web site <www.norvig.com> on the Gettysburg Address. Lots of humor! Happy Thanksgiving to all--Alice's turkey recipe works; my mother made ours that way. She was a teacher, usually worked the day before Thanksgiving and shortcuts with good results were great.
