Folks, Here's another of those requests from a teacher who can't remember titles and authors... A teacher read a short story in 7th grade back in the mid-80s....about a boy going to an amusement park. In his head he's giving each ride a numerical significance that the reader can't quite figure out. And there's something about black things piled up in the distance. Eventually he gets to a ride where the car goes flying off the ride and it becomes clear that the black things piled up are body bags and the numbers he's assigning to the rides are the odds of dying on each ride. I may have gotten a little of it mixed up, but does this sound vaguely familiar to anyone?
