Dear colleagues: A good number of years ago, I seem to recall an unscientific method of measuring shelves or inches of books on shelves in order to determine the approximate number of books in a library collection; a collection which has no shelf list, no automation, no documentation to support that approximate number. Am I imagining this? I have searched the lm net archive to no avail. If this rings a bell with you, please respond privately to me at my email address: bpwilber@centurytel.net Thanks in advance for any help you might give.
