Dear Colleagues One for those working with interactive whiteboards and desirous of presenting at one of the world's great meeting places PACIFIC RIM CONFERENCE ON INTERACTIVE WHITEBOARDS AND SCHOOLING INVITATION TO PRESENT IWB.NET will be conducting, in conjunction with the English Foundation Schools an international conference in Hong Kong on Interactive Whiteboards and Schooling, on 22/23 April 2005. The conference will be held at the West Island School on Hong Kong Island. The conference will have a strongly practical and wherever feasible ‘hands –on’ focus and will cater for both school leaders and classroom teachers. However in so saying we would also like to like to feature any research that has been undertaken. While most of the IWB and schooling pathfinders from the UK, the US and Australia have already agreed to present we would be delighted to hear from any classroom teachers or school leaders, anywhere in the world who are making use of interactive whiteboards, and who would be able to get themselves to the conference. The conference will have four major strands – school leadership, pedagogical development, international experiences and teaching ideas. For more – see http://www.iwb.net.au We would very much like to feature the different types of IWB technology and thus in expressing your interest could you let us know what kind of board or software you are using. All selected presenters will have their registration fee removed. If you are interested would you contact Peter Woodhead, the Principal ICT Adviser for the English Foundation Schools, on email pwoodhead@esf.edu.hk, or alternatively email IWBNet at info@iwb.net.au All that is required at this stage is an indication of the area/a on which you would like to present, your present situation and your experience with interactive whiteboards. We need to receive your expression of interest before Christmas 2004.
