Hello,

The site by Sue LeBeau says Ramadan (Nov, Dec, or Jan).
Just to clarify, Ramadan this year was from October 15 to November 14,
2004. Since Islam uses a lunar calendar (254 days), each month is about
11 days earlier every year. Next year, Ramadan will start around
October 4, the next year in September, and so on...

By the time December comes, we will begin the month of Dhul-Qa'dah, two
months after Ramadan. After that is Dhul-Hijjah, which is the month of
Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah). The tenth of Dhul-Hijjah is the holiday of
Eid-al-Adha (which should be around January 21, 2005), marking the end
of the Hajj. It is considered a greater festival than Eid-al-Fitr,
which marks the end of Ramadan. Perhaps it would benefit your students
to know about both of these holidays and their significance.

My 2 cents...

Christine and all,

I came across this site from the Kathy Schrock Site of the School Day
(SOS)
and it has many sites for all the December holidays including Ramadan,
Hanukkah and Kwanzaa.
http://www.suelebeau.com/december.htm

She has sites for each month's holidays listed at:
