Greetings! I am flying high....On fall break and just back from the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN where I had a fantastic time! My first trip to the festival where I met several other school librarians and lots of wonderful people, not to mention laughing all weekend at all of the great stories and storytellers. If you've never been, you need to think about it! The web site is http://www.storytellingcenter.com/festival/festival.htm While I was there, I met a retired teacher from Colorado who is doing some tutoring. When she found out I am a school librarian, she started pumping me for book suggestions! In addition to some other requests which I was able to answer, she asked me for some good novels about Japan for an 8th grade girl who is going to visit there. She already knew the book Sadako, and I couldn't come up with anything. Especially since I am K-5. If you can help, I got her email address and will send her the suggestions. I told her about y'all and that I would get back to her! Thanks for helping to keep our librarians' reputation solid! Nancy Dickinson, Librarian Hillsboro Elem. School Hillsboro, TN 37342 (about 4 hours from Jonesborough, but worth every minute of the trip!) fsufan23@charter.net -------------------------------------------------------------------- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
