I heard Mary Downing Hahn speak (to adults) at the Frostburg State
Univ. Children's Lit Conference a few years ago and she was wonderful.
Our intermediate teachers have always enjoyed her books. By the way,
this is a wonderful, inexpensive conference is only 2.5 hours from
BaltimoreWashington or  2.5 hours from Pittsburgh if you are close
enough. It is the last weekend of April this year. Check the FSU
website or e-mail me and I will get you some information.
