Deep in the recesses of my office back room there are several shelves of paperback books that teachers use in their classrooms for group reading activities. Most of them are classics and are old and a bit dog eared but still serviceable. They are in classroom quantities of each title. They have never been cataloged. I would like to make checking them out easier but I don't want to spend a lot of time on them. How do you handle them. Do you barcode and enter them into your computer system? Do you abbreviate cataloging info or do them as you would other books? Do you use a sign out sheet? Other ideas? Paula Bainter Library Media Specialist Ellsworth High School 210 West 11th Street P.O.
