TARGET: Recognize this plot?

Hi everyone!

    I had a sixth grader come up to me and ask if the library carried the
book with the following plot...

Young girl gets into a car accident with her mother (who doesn't survive).
When girl wakes up from coma, she is all grown up. Anyone recognize this cheery
plot?
