I have been reading the LM_NET archives for some time and have noticed that at times the group can be quite creative. I have been trying to develop a display for a small showcase at my 3rd-5th grade elementary school. I wanted to use the phrase "READING....a recipe for success". The display would include some colorful cooking utensils, books such as Roald Dahl's Really Revolting Recipes and Fannie in the Kitchen, etc. Here's where your assistance would be greatly appreciated- I am trying to write a "recipe" for reading. My ideas so far include things like, stir in a little imagination, keep turning pages as the plot thickens, add a few colorful characters. You get my drift. But I'm having trouble getting much further. I knew you were the folks who could help. If you could think of some additional "ingredients" or "instructions" and send them to me I would be glad to compile them and send a HIT to the group.
