I'd like to second Julie's thoughts about a Demco book repair
workshop. For those of us in small districts it's pretty difficult to have
a workshop in the district. However, here are 3 scenarios that have given
many of us in this area the opportunity to take part in such a
workshop. These may be ideas that will work for some of you.
1.) A workshop offered at the our state library media conference. I
attended this one and it was a hands-on workshop, required pre
registration, and was filled to capacity.
2.) A workshop offered by the public library system (a multi-county
organization) and open to school and special library staff as well as
public library staff. Again, this was filled to capacity.
3.) A workshop offered by our CESA (Cooperative Educational Services
Organization--similar to BOCES etc. and serving 35 school districts) for
school library paraprofessionals. This rated among the highest offerings
during the annual library paraprofessional workshops.

Additionally, there are videos available from such vendors and they are
usually pretty good. Often these can be borrowed on interlibrary loan from
a system or state library.
