Tammy,
Two days ago I moved my Vertical File cabinet into my office and filled it
with my library management files. Then I updated the teacher's handbook I
pass out on our first day back for the new school year and emphasized that
it was gone since we had such great access online through periodical
subscriptions, academic websites, and TEL (TN Electronic Library). Not
one murmur was heard, except for one teacher who said, "What's a vertical
file?" Also, my school just went through SACS a couple of months ago, and
we came through with flying colors and nary a question about a vertical
file in the library. I made the right choice to do away with it. Kelly
