[LM_NET] MS: alternatives to birthday book club

Hello!

I recently started a new position in a K-8 school, whereas before I was always K-5 
and I need some middle school advice! I would like to have a birthday book club 
this year for my younger students, but I don't want to exclude the older students. 
However, I feel they might think a birthday book club too "babyish". Do any of you 
do a "birthday book club", or alternative, with this age group? I would love to
