We just returned from the Science and History Museum yesterday where this was the topic of conversation. Pretty fascinating, actually. We watched an entire demonstration on the close Mars encounter coming up this October (2005). There was, indeed, one in August of 2003, but still another in October. Actually, about every 700+ days we come fairly close to Mars so it'll continually be new news, I suppose. Anyway, it was such an awesome class and the pictures and samples were fabulous! Although I've been to the science museum three times with my elementary students I have to admit that I truly enjoyed going with my hubby for our 10 year anniversary--it was so nice to only have to worry about my hubby's behavior and not a class of 25 hyper students. LOL! That happened 2 years ago in 2003. Apparently, some people are still circulating old news.
