Hello to all, I am a recent LIS graduate and will be going on my 2nd interview on Wednesday for a part-time position (M,W,F) at a very small private school - grades K-12 - that is located in a suburb of New York. Up to now they have never had a professional running the library but they are now looking for someone to institute a viable library program. The person I would be replacing basically held story time for the younger grades and study hall for the older students. During my initial interview they seemed very receptive to many of my thoughts concerning the library. I feel that this would be a wonderful opportunity to spread my wings I am also very aware of the many challenges that I would be faced with. So, my question to you currently concerns compensation. (I'm sure I will be using this listserv on a regular basis if I actually get this position.) What would be a fair salary for this position? As I said earlier, this is a part-time position...3 days a week. (There is someone who works in the library on Tues and Thursday) As they have never had a certified LMS in this position I feel they have no track record and I don't want to be drastically underpaid for the job they are asking me to do. I know it is the beginning of the school year and everyone is very, very busy but I would appreciate any and all comments concerning this manner. Thank you so much, Lori Goldman LMS - Recent Graduate ljayeg@msn.com<mailto:ljayeg@msn.com> -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
