I will be working with student literacy groups this fall at my school. I am trying to get a handle on the different ways that books are levelled; it seems that Lexile is the one I encounter most frequently. However, our Title 1 chief prefers using DRA. Would anyone have a website or book suggestion that might help me to understand the pros and cons of each and exactly how they are determined. Some of our teachers dispute the levels that are placed on books anyway. I am trying to help them out with this, as well as make certain that the library's holdings reflect what our students want and need. If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate an off-list reply. Thank you. Patrice Huckaby, media specialist South Central Elementary School 6595 E.
