'Eragon' scribe's success with dragon tale lands him in league with Harry Potter

Eragon * dragon rider, warrior, master of magic and mind control * began in the 
novel of the same name as an ordinary boy who undertakes the quest that changes his 
life at age 15. 
Christopher Paolini also began a quest that would change his life at age 15 when he 
started writing the novel. In 2002, at age 18, Christopher completed Eragon, which 
landed on the The New York Times bestseller list for more than 100 weeks. Last 
week, Christopher's newly released novel, Eldest, the second book in his planned 
trilogy, grabbed the top spot on Amazon.com's bestseller list, besting the saga of 
another magically gifted teen, Harry Potter. 
Eragon is about a boy who discovers a dragon egg and finds himself bonding with 
elves and dwarves to fight off the crazed and evil Galbatorix who wants to control 
him and his dragon, Saphira. The book climaxes in a huge battle scene. Eldest picks
