An 8th grade science teacher at my school wants to come to the library to do a project she remembers seeing in an education magazine, possibly Educator Magazine(?) within "the past 8 years" in which the students plan a trip across the United States. Along the way, they plan their routes, budget for gasoline, mileage, etc. They decide what states to pass through, figure out which monuments and historical sites they want to see along the way. The project has elements of math, science, and social studies in it. I have tried on my own to find this, but haven't had any success. If this sounds familiar and anyone knows where she might find a copy of the actual lesson plan for it, please contact me directly. Thank you very much!
