I'm looking for research that supports the reading of classics (Dickens, Twain, Hemmingway, etc) with students. While I can well articulate my opinion supporting such teaching ( and, yes, for the record I feel that it's nice to have some some more contemporary titles classics mixed in with the classics) what I need right now is research results concerning the benefits of teaching the classics. If you know anything along this line, please let me know. I'll post hit if there's interest. As always, thank you.
