LM Netters: An English teacher at our high school is developing a lesson plan for "The Crucible." She has tried teaching her students about McCarthyism, but that era seems nearly as old and antiquated as the Salem Witch Trials. To help make the lesson more relevant, she's seeking current/modern news stories (i.e., within the last five years) that students can relate to and that contain the themes of false accusation or over-reaction. Ideally, news events that feature young people or take place in a high school would help drive the point home. Do you have any ideas or suggestions? Many thanks!
