Donna,
You might look at "Running Out of Time" by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It's very
popular with kids. Haddix used to live here in Indiana, and the pioneer village is
loosely based on the Conner Prairie Living History Museum near Indianapolis.
http://www.connerprairie.org/ Here is the synopsis: "When a diphtheria epidemic
hits her 1840 village, thirteen-year-old Jessie discovers it is actually a 1995
tourist site under unseen observation by heartless scientists, and it's up to
Jessie to escape the village and save the lives of the dying children."

The Vigo County Public Library is "easy to find. It's the million-story building at
Seventh and Poplar streets." (Lori Henson, Terre Haute Tribune-Star, 10/8/02)

"If we didn't have libraries, many people thirsty for knowledge would dehydrate."
(Megan Jo Tetrick, age 12, Daleville, Indiana)

Our 7th grade reading teacher would like some fiction titles similar to
Fever, 1793 or something related to diseases, like Cooney's Code Orange
(which is awesome!). I would also like to make some bookmarks titled,
"If you liked... then try..." Do you know of a website that would give
some titles like that?
