*********************** This message has been scanned for viruses by the InterScan Messaging Security Suite. -HPS Technology ***********-*********** Colleagues: I'll be attending a meeting shortly to help plan a school library that'll serve a new high school currently under construction. I'd love to hear from any of you who have recent experience in Launching a new high school facility; what works, what doesn't? Actually much about the basic structure of the facility is already, quite literally, set in stone, so let's talk a few specifics: I understand, for example, that the facility will have 5 direct hallway exits, as well as 4 exits into adjacent spaces that lead to hallways. Has anyone dealt with a library facility that has multiple means of egress? The plans also show an open second floor "Gallery," an area designated as a "cyber café," overlook the main floor of the library facility. Whaddaya think about that? I'd also like to hear from anyone using wi-fi access throughout their facility. How does that play out on a day-to-day basis? I am intertested, as well, in hearing from anyone who even knows of anyone who uses RFID tags to manage circulation in their school library. I am unaware of any school libraries using RFID at this time--Am I wrong about that? Tell me anything--positive, negative, or in-between--about your new High School facility. I want to learn from you!
