I am a librarian in a grades 6-8 middle school. Our 7th and 8th
graders have one-to-one computing with our state's laptop initiative.
Our 6th graders, however, are the "have-nots!" I am on our 6th grade
technology committe, and our ultimate goal is to get laptops for all of
our 6th graders. Although we know that is probably not going to happen,
we really want to push for at least the 6th grade teachers to get their
own laptops. If they had access to the technology, they would use it!
Do any of you work in a school where 6th graders OR 6th grade teachers
have their own laptops? If so, I would love to know how they are using
them and how they have changed instruction for the 6th grade teachers.

If your school doesn't have laptops, what is the computer access for
6th graders?

Thanks so much for any information you can give me!
