I have a sixth grade teacher who would like to use a fiction book with her students that presents a picture of what life was like for someone growing up in the 1950's. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've already pulled up Belle Prater's Boy and The Search for Bell Prater by Ruth White as well as The Schernoff Discoveries by Gary Paulsen. Any thoughts?
